| Meeting scheduleThe following is a schedule of projected meeting events, subject to change. Meeting times are the first and third Wednesday of each month from 10 am to Noon. Board members will meet at 9 am on the first Wednesday of each month, prior to the regular meeting. Any questions can be addressed to Lise MacGregor, 970-255-1553.*Members are encouraged to bring their artwork to any meeting for a friendly critique.
Meetings will be held at the Palisade United Methodist Church located at 4th & Main in Palisade unless noted otherwise. *Use the side entrance
PALS 2009-2010 Meeting Schedule October 7 “Remembrance” Image, awareness, recollect, create…. Bring several pieces of paper and the medium of your choice, but be prepared to work fairly quickly. Does your mental motor stall? We will rev it up a notch! This will be a fun exercise in memory, talent and speed! ** October 17 PALS Yard sale, Saturday from 9:00-3:00 on the corner of 6th and Main Street in downtown Palisade. Our yard sale enables us to offset costs for our annual art show. Please contact Arden at 970-464-0440 for details and information about dropping-off items. We hope to see you there!
October 21 “Demo artist--Michael Mitchell Michael Mitchell will dazzle us with his amazing talent by doing a live figure/portrait pastel painting. Mike has a unique, vibrant style that captures the essence of his subject and captures the attention of those who see his work. This is not one to miss!  November 4 “Pottery Paint Out” Meet at Angelos at 11 am, at 2490 Patterson Road in Grand Junction for a pottery party. Pick a piece of pottery (cups, plates, bowls, platters), paint it any way you desire, glaze it and have a fun time making it yours. They will fire the piece to be picked up the following week. Makes a great gift!
 November 18 “Demo artist--Sandy King” Sandy will give a demo on the use of acrylics, in her signature style of bold, colorful florals and she will talk about using the new “open”acrylics, glazing. Visit Sandy’s work at the Blue Pig gallery in Palisade.

Everyone please note: the following two events have been swapped!! So, Dec. 2 will be the Luncheon, and Dec. 16 will be the Pass n' Paint!! December 2 “Pass n’ Paint” Bring a 9 x 12 sheet of watercolor paper taped to a board, and a small set of watercolors (or you can share watercolors with a friend). Also bring a container for water and paper towels. Better have a strong cup of coffee before this one! This will challenge your ability to paint with emotion without dilly dallying (did I really say that??). December 16 “Ho Ho Ho” This will be our annual members' Christmas luncheon. We are meeting at 9:00 a.m. for a special project as well as a luncheon at 11:15 hosted by Mumzel's. For details, contact Lise MacGregor. Please bring a fun, unique wrapped gift for our gift exchange…and keep it under $15. Spouses are welcome! January 6 “Parody” Bring several sheets of paper (about 9 x 12) with a hard surface to work on (drawing board, foam core, etc) and your choice of pencils, ink pens, or charcoal, plus erasers, blenders, etc. Put on your best face…… This is all I am going to say! January 20 “Demo artist--Bev Lee” Published and award winning pastel artist Bev Lee will give us a demo on painting still life in pastel. She is a signature member of the Pastel Society of America and a member of the Pastel Society of Colorado. Her work has appeared in The Pastel Journal, The Artist's Magazine and Pastel International Magazine. She is a teacher and workshop instructor whose favorite subject is children, although she also paints still lifes and animals. Her work can be seen throughout the valley in many local venues.   February 3 “Three Blind Mice” Bring several sheets of paper (with a drawing/painting surface to work on) and the medium of your choice. Test your ability to “feel” what you see and draw…..an exercise for the right brain that leaps past logical thinking! February 17 “Demo artist--Diana Fritzler” Diana will give us a talk on how to create and maintain an artist web site. Diana is dynamic, very knowledgeable and just a ton of fun…don’t miss this informative and lively instruction. Check her out at www.dfrtizlerstudio.com March 3 To be determined March 17 “Demo artist --Gayle Gerson” Gayle will show us how to paint on top of a collaged tissue paper base using a still life set up. She is a nationally award winning artist and was featured in Watercolor Artist Magazine Feb. 2009. Her work is a mix of collage and water media with an abstract, yet “impressionistic realism” to it. April 21 “Eat and paint” Bring a bag lunch and let’s meet to paint outdoors. Spring brings warm weather, bright colors and new possibilities! Don’t forget your water, sunscreen and bug spray…We will meet at 10 am at a location to be vote on, and of course, weather permitting. May 5 “Share & Share Alike” Just show up and get ready to have fun creating a masterpiece together! May 19 “Demo artist--Tim Wedel” We will make a field trip to Tim’s pottery studio in Palisade to see him in action and get a talk/demo on how and what he does to work his magic.
