Painting is a constant learning process and Bev will guide you through this process of exploration and address common difficulties that can create frustration.  "Understanding Color and Creating Your Personal Palette" with Rebeca Dierickx
The PALS workshop for February will be by local artist Rebecca Dierickx (a former PALS member). She is a very talented artist who will be sharing lessons based on color theory. We will each be doing 3 exercises, working small (8 x 10 or smaller), in either oils or pastel (whatever suits you best). She will teach and give us exercises to do, to learn about values, hue, complimentary colors and how to make our own personal palette best suited to each of us.
We need to bring:
* a photo reference or two, the same photo in color and one in black and white (some will be there too)
* oils or pastels, a brush or palette knife if working in oils, paper towels, easel or table easel
* a drop cloth (there will be carpeted floor)
* 4 or more 8 x 10 (or smaller) canvases or pastel papers
* a color wheel/value scale if you have one (there will be some to share)

This should be very informative, fun, and a great learning experience or refresher on why colors and how they work together, is so vital for a successful painting. You will walk away with an extremely valuable tool in making the best color decisions for your next painting.
